Raining, but still nice

Wat heb je nog meer nodig in Suriname? Je ziet, het kan regenen. Maar ach, de temperatuur blijft hoog. Wat heb je nog meer nodig? Nou, een dak boven de verranda en ondanks de regen een heerlijke ijskoude Parbo. Want ik melde het al eerder, de temperatuur blijft hoog.

Moeilijk om te kiezen.

Er zijn van die avonden, dat je niet weet wat je als eerste moet gaan proeven. Dan is zoveel lekkers op tafel dat het moeilijk kiezen is. De enigste oplossing? Gewoon alles gaan proeven. Niet goed voor het gewicht, maar wel lekker om te doen.

There are those nights that you do not know what you are first to go trials. Then so many goodies on the table it's hard to choose. The only solution? Just everything to taste. Not good for the weight, but nice to do.

The Slametan Suran we celebrate on the 10th day of the first month of the Islamic year at the beginning of the new year and we commemorate the ten-day battle between Hussein, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad and the army of the caliphate of Damascus. Its looks like a tradition in Suriname. Everywhere I go is there is always a large pile of empty beer bottles Parbo. Yes, they are heavy bottles to bring back. Wonder how many bottles never come back. Looks like quite a lot.

Sinterklaas avondje

Het jaarlijkse gebeuren waar alle "niet stoute" kinderen naar uit kijken. Gelukkig heeft Sint en zijn Pieten ( ondanks de verhuizing ) de weg naar Stichting PARI gevonden. Iedereen ( ook de de oudere ) hebben genoten van deze avond. Wilt u meer foto's van Stichting PARI zien?
